EMDR Therapy
Sometimes, no matter how much we understand our past, we still feel stuck in it. Triggers in everyday life send your body into survival mode — heart racing, muscles tightening, or feeling suddenly numb and distant. These reactions aren’t weakness; they’re your nervous system trying to protect you from old pain that never got a chance to fully heal.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a gentle, evidence-based therapy that helps your brain and body finally process those stored memories, so they no longer hold the same emotional charge. Rather than requiring you to telling your story over and over, EMDR uses a structured process with bilateral stimulation — such as eye movements, gentle sounds, or tapping — to help the brain reprocess distressing experiences in a way that restores a sense of calm in your mind and nervous system.
During EMDR sessions, I will guide you in a safe, supportive environment where you remain in control at every step. Together, we’ll work on accessing and releasing the emotions, sensations, and beliefs that may still be living in your body. Over time, many people notice that triggers lose their intensity, self-compassion deepens, and a sense of inner peace and resilience begins to take root.
Benefits of EMDR can include:
Feeling calmer and more grounded in daily life
Reconnecting with your body
Letting go of fear, shame, or self-blame rooted in childhood experiences
Building a stronger sense of safety and self-trust
Experiencing freedom from past memories that used to feel “too much”
Healing through EMDR isn’t about forgetting your past — it’s about freeing yourself from it. It helps your mind and body feel more confident that the danger has passed, and that you are safe to rest, connect, and move forward.
